OTi–2368 USB Host/SD/MMC MP3/WMA Player Controller

The OTi-2368 is a media platform for digital audio play. It possesses a built-in MPEG layer 3/WMA decoder, incorporating USB1.1 host controller, USB device, a high performance 16 bit stereo Audio DAC, and SD/MMC card reader. With USB host controller, you can play audio data from any USB device with mass storage protocol. With USB and SD/MMC card interface, you can plug the device into PC to download audio data to SD/MMC card and play the music on this platform from card interface. This controller is quite suitable for portable digital audio applications.

The built-in MPEG layer 3 audio decoder supports the entire feature specified in ISO/IEC 11172-3 and 13813-3.2, capable of decoding layer III compressed elementary streams. It can support audio format with sampling frequency 48k, 44.1k, 32k, 24k, 22.05k and 16 kHz for MP3 and 48k down to 8 kHz for WMA. It accepts elementary compressed stream with data rate from 320kbps down to 32kbps for MP3 and 320kbps down to 8kbps for WMA. The built-in WMA audio decoder supports WMA V7/V8/V9 format stream decoding. The OTi-2368 has a 10-band equalizer.

There are five EQ modes preset and can be adjusted by firmware. With the concerns of cost saving for customers, the controller has a built-in high performance 16 bit stereo audio DAC.

The OTi-2368 also contains many GPIOs for luxury applications, such as push buttons for digital music play, LCD display for user interface, and RF module for playing music in wireless application. You can connect this controller with other devices by using these GPIOs. Two crystals are needed for full features operation, one is 12MHz and another is 32.768 KHz. The 32.768 KHz crystal is for RTC application. There are PLLs in this controller to generate clocks for various applications.

For USB device usage, this controller can operate on Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows ME, and Mac OS without driver installation. It is available in 128-pin LQFP package is also available for external ROM usage. With the built-in ISP (In System Programming) supporting, you can update the firmware in the external NOR Flash ROM through the USB port by an AP running in the PC.
